Comedian Gilbert Gottfried talks about the misery of working on the infamous Season 6 of Saturday Night Live and his ongoing problem with his podcast guests kicking the bucket just before they can make it on his show.  He talks about his lifelong battle against political correctness from his joke at the Friar’s Club Roast 2 days after 9/11 to his tweets about the Japanese Tsnumani that got him fired from his gig as the voice of the Aflac duck.  He talks about old movies and does his impressions of my recent podcast my guest David Steinberg, Vincent Price, early Larry David, old Lucille Ball, and senile Groucho, plus I verify the legend about Milton Berle.  You know which legend I'm talking about!

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell talks about his childhood battle with polio, the longshot bid that got him elected to the Senate in 1984, and his difficult re-election in 2014.  He discusses what the institution of the Senate means to him, his frustration with the 2013 government shutdown, and the need to put an end to Republicans attacking Republicans.  Senator McConnell discussed his endorsement of Donald Trump and the serious concerns he has about the presumptive GOP nominee.  He also reveals what advice he gave Trump in a recent meeting.

My guest today is legendary comedian David Steinberg.  David Steinberg will talk about how being part of the early days of Second City in Chicago, his 130 appearances on The Tonight Show (more than anyone other than Bob Hope) and his friendship with Johnny Carson, and how his appearance on The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour singlehandedly got the most popular show on television cancelled.  Plus David Steinberg talks about directing Larry David on Curb Your Enthusiasm, being bestman at a gangster’s wedding, getting on Nixon’s enemies list, and why he says I definitely should NOT try my hand at stand-up comedy.

If you enjoyed my conversation with David Steinberg, I would highly recommend that you subscribe to his wonderful podcast The David Steinberg Podcast on iTunes.  Order the documentary Quality Balls: The David Steinberg Story on Amazon, and follow David on Twitter at @david_steinberg or at www.thedavidsteinberg.com.
